With 14 IS titles behind them the Army Women are daunting opposition especially with their league experience in the Womens SL South. However, our Wrenegades put up a strong performance in the game, especially in the second half when, after conceding a 40 points in the first half, they restricted the Army to just 12 points in the second half. Coaches Matt Bayliss and David Heming had worked hard since the disappointment of the RAF result to get the Wrenegades ready for the challenge and led by Sian McLaughlin on the pitch they did themselves proud on the day. Our Wrenegades came close to the score on several occasions testing the Army defence who in turn responded well to the threat.
So as the IS 24 draws to a close there is a lot to look forward to for the next season, especially heartening for RNRL is the increasing number of players stepping up to join the training camps boosting the pool of Wrenegades as we look forward to next season
