RNRL Academy are now IS Champions for the third consecutive year!

On a fantastic day on Humberside the Academy Brothers secured the Academy Inter Services title with a dominant performance against their Army opponents. Later in the day the Senior squad stormed to an emphatic victory over the Army to leave the IS Seniors title still up for grabs. The ever strong Army Womens team, as expected, beat our Wrenegades but the score was less than those outside RNRL were expecting and overall the RN Women did themselves and the shirt proud.

The final round of this years Inter Services Series takes place at the Belle Vue Stadium in Wakefield on Friday 27th September. With the Womens and Academy titles already decided the Seniors title is still all to play for. Effectively a win or draw for the RAF gives them the title however should the Army take the win it will be down to aggregate points difference throughout the tournament.

Our thanks to the Hull Kingston Rovers club for hosting this round of the tournament at relatively short notice, hopefully we will be back. Thanks also to RL Legend Jamie Jones-Buchanan for being guest of honour and presenting the Trophies throughout the afternoon. Jamie's father served in the RN Submarine service so 'its a small world' springs to mind!

A great day for the Association highlighting the current strength in depth we have across all our three teams as well as a fantastic Coaching, management and backroom staff backing up the players
