Around 20 people attended the informal afternoon get together which surely will be the first of many to follow. As well as the RN In Touch members we were delighted to welcome old foes from past Inter Services. The Army was represented by Rich Naivalurua, Sly Sylvester and Shaun Fanning with Dave Mortimer and Jimmy Bargett representing the RAF. Much dit spinning as expected with perhaps a little exaggeration or was it just cloudy memory.

A great afternoon and an opportunity to catch up with old friends in the best spirit of the In Touch RNRL mission. Whilst there was much good humour throughout, we did have a moment of reflection following the sad news of McCoy ‘Topsy’ Turners recent passing. Jase Steele, Topsy’s PTI Course instructor, gave a moving speech before the group raised glasses of port to Topsy’s memory.

A plug for the Eastney Tavern who hosted the afternoon and provided us with fantastic pie and chips with of course loads of gravy because ‘Northern boys love gravy’! Thanks guys
