Our match against the HMP Crusaders will be a curtain raiser to the clash between Rovers and the York City Knights as their Championship season nears its climax
Featherstone Rovers released the following statement following confirmation of the fixture
Rovers will kickstart their preparations for Summer bash with a military themed double header on Sunday 24th July
The Millennium Stadium will play host to the Royal Navy as they take on HM Prison Service in a 12pm kick off before Rovers take on fellow high flyers, York City Knights at 3pm.
Off the field, all three branches of the military will be providing displays and recruitment stands throughout the ground and we look forward to welcoming military personnel and their families from across the country as well as local uniformed youth organisations who will take part in pre-match build up.
Rovers CEO Martin Vickers commented; “We’ve set a strategic objective of broadening our relationship with the military and this is a great first step. It will kickstart our week of building up to the Summer bash where we’ll be playing in our military themed kit, working with our chosen charity partner; Help for Heroes. The Navy have had an outstanding season, a particularly memorable run in this year’s Challenge Cup, and we look forward to seeing them and the prison service put on a show at the Millennium Stadium.”
Tickets are on sale now for the double header with armed forces and prison service personnel able to purchase a ticket for £10 providing they can provide proof of their employment upon entry with a valid ID card. To buy your tickets go to the following link

The Featherstone Club have been great hosts in the past to RNRL and UKAF especially at the last visit, that being the emotional Inter Services Clash between the RAF and RNRL following the tragic passing of RAF player Scott Stevenson.
All involved with RNRL are delighted and very grateful to Rovers for giving us the opportunity to play this fixture at the Millennium Stadium
